Are you interested in the Educational Loan Programs offered by Jewish Hospital St. Mary's HealthCare (JHSMH)? We are excited to have the opportunity to assist you in your desire to become a health care professional.
We have education loans available for the following health care careers:
- Registered Nurse
- Respiratory Therapy
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
- Medical Technologist
- Pharmacy
- Physical Therapy (PT)*
- Occupational Therapy (OT)*
- Speech Language Pathology (SLP)*
*Applications accepted annually beginning February 15 to March 15 for April Selection Committee
Our requirements are as follows:
- ACT - 18 or greater, SAT – 900 or greater (if taken in past 5 years).
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Must be admitted into the program before submitting an application.
- We do not accept applications in any discipline if student is in (or entering) final semester, quarter, or session.
- Current team members need to be discipline free at the written level for 12 months
- High school students may apply after graduation if their GPA is a 3.8 or higher out of a 4.0 scale or in the top 5% of their graduating class.
The Educational Loan Program offers between $6,000 and $24,000 depending on your program of study and college attending. For every $6,000 received, you will have a one year full time work commitment after graduation. This money will be taxable upon graduation. You do not have to be a current team member (employee) to apply for this program. We are excited to assist you in your desire to become a health care professional.

The Selection Process
Educational Loan applications accepted January through October*. Your application will be reviewed upon receipt. If you do not meet the criteria or failed to include any items, you will receive notification within 2 weeks. If packet is complete, and all minimum requirements are met, a Human Resources recruiter will contact you for an interview. If selected to move forward in the interview process, a second interview will be scheduled to meet with the selection committee, which meets the 3rd Friday of each month (January thru October*). Within 1 week of the committee meeting, you will be notified regarding the committee’s decision.
