Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Names General Counsel

LOUISVILLE, KY (May 13, 2009) – Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare (JHSMH) is pleased to announce that John Johnson will join the organization as vice president and general counsel. He will officially join the organization on June 1, 2009.

Johnson comes to the organization from Stites & Harbison, PLLC in Louisville. He has represented a variety of different health care clients, while practicing law there since 1994. Prior to that, Johnson served as House Counsel at Columbia/HCA HealthCare Corporation and Humana Inc.

After completing his undergraduate studies at Centre College, in Kentucky, Johnson earned his Juris Doctorate and MBA from the University of Louisville. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Health Lawyers Association, Kentucky Academy of Hospital Attorneys, Kentucky Hospital Association and the Kentucky Association of Healthcare Facilities. He is also active in a number of local civic organizations, including Boy Scouts of America.

Johnson resides with his wife, Chris, in Louisville. They have one child.
